Through acts of support and generosity, we uplift individuals and families in need, creating light in the darkest of times. We’re here to carry on Kaygan’s legacy of kindness.
her story
Kaygan.
A name chosen by combining her mom and dad’s names. (Kayla + Logan = Kaygan).
She entered the world at 8:43 a.m. on November 15, 2012. Kaygan was adventurous and wanted to try everything. She poured her heart into every opportunity, striving to do her best and show the world her thankfulness and gratitude for her life. When she was around ten months old, she discovered her love of the stage, stealing the spotlight with beauty pageants and dance recitals.
As she grew older, she took her talents to the field, playing softball with several select and regional teams, always wearing #15. Kaygan eventually made her way back to the stage, performing with her school’s drama team, and found enjoyment in other sports like pickleball and volleyball.
Although Kaygan was the tiniest on the stage, in the field, and on the court, her presence was huge, spreading kindness and serving others everywhere she went. Kaygan’s highest title was that of big sister to her three siblings and co-founder of the “Crazy Cousin Crew.” She loved school and was a friend to all. As the years went on, Kaygan’s kindness and love of Jesus grew. She gave her life to Christ at 8 years old. She was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to share the love of her Savior with others.
The summer of 2024 was another fun one, full of adventures, but it also held a dark secret: sleepless nights filled with back pain, pacing back and forth, limping, and losing balance… which led to appointments and tests. In the early hours of August 22, the clues came together with the discovery of a 3-inch tumor pressing against her spine, which turned out to be B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.
And in the blink of an eye, just three short months later, Kaygan passed at 10:23 a.m. on November 23, 2024.
Kaygan’s story is just one of so many affected by childhood cancer. Only about 4% of all federal research funds go to pediatric cancer, and many of the treatments have not changed in decades. But breakthroughs are possible so that not every story has to end like Kaygan’s.
Through research, funding, and people like you, we can change the outlook for so many. To honor her life and her legacy, the Kind Kaygan Foundation hopes to make a difference; not only in the lives of those affected by this terrible illness, but also in the lives of those left behind to pick up the pieces.
our goal
